Languages have been my passion ever since I went to school. Before my graduation I chose English and French as intensive courses, later I studied English and Spanish at Heidelberg University before I went on to do interpreting studies at the Department for Translation and Multilingual Communication of the School of Applied Sciences Cologne and got my conference interpreter`s degree.
By spending a lot of time in countries like Spain, England, Columbia, Mexico and Brasil I have gathered extensive knowledge and experience which I can now apply to the best advantage of my customers.
In order to further extend my knowledge in foreign literature and culture I studied literature, linguistics and pedagogy at Cologne University parallel to my work and passed the first state examination for teaching. For several years I have been working as an instructor at several institutes for further training. From time to time I also accompany groups on their trips to the countries of my expertise.

When I started studying the Chinese language I was very sceptical at first. Compared to the European languages I had learned until then, Chinese was a whole new experience – and in many ways a real challenge! But it did not take long for me to realize that this was exactly what I wanted to do! After a year of studies at Fudan University Shanghai I even decided to learn yet another Asian language – Japanese. After I got my translator‘s degree in these two languages I worked as an employee before I took up work as a freelance translator.
Within this period of time I did an accompanying course of studies in Economics to gather more specific knowledge and acquired a degree in Business Administration (Betriebswirtin VWA). I have now been working as a freelance translator for Chinese and Japanese as well as interpreter for English for almost 20 years and I must say it still is a fascinating job for me.
In addition, I am regularly working as a tour guide for German groups travelling to China. What I like about my job especially is that it is very diverse and gives me the opportunity to work in ever new and interesting fields of expertise.
